Grad Cafe Entries : Admission Results pulled from GradCafe

This reports shows admission results pulled from GradCafe for the last month. It has three tabs :

  • Results By Institution/Program/Status/Date
  • A Sankey Diagram of Status By Institution
  • Distribution Of Results By Institution
The report has filters for Institution/Program/Status/Student Type and so on. To search for a particular Institution/Program , Type in the search box above the filter box and hit enter , (eg type "Texas" to search for all Institutions with Texas in the name)

Because most of the fields for entry are free text, there is a lot of variation in Institution and Program Names, I haven't done any work to merge the duplicates for now. So there will be duplicates and you'll need to use the search box and select from the resulting list, my apologies.

Income Taxes - How they fall into the brackets

People are often confused about how their income is taxed. The tax slabs that one falls into is sometimes wrongly thought to be as absolute (as in I make X$ , and I fall into 25% bracket, so my taxes will be X * 0.25 ).Sometimes people mistakenly think making a little bit of more money will result in a larger tax burden, and hence refuse to get that promotion/bonus etc(this admittedly could be an urban legend). This plot illustrates how the taxes are actually distributed into the slabs for 2018 and 2019, and shows the effective tax rate and each Income Point.
