Federal Firearms License (FFL) Registration Per Capita('000) by State
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives(ATF) defines a Federal Firearms License (FFL) as "an individual who is licensed to engage in the business of manufacturing, importing and/or dealing in firearms. Persons must be licensed by ATF to engage in the business of firearms". An FFL is classified further into 4 categories and several codes:
